Overview
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Junior Hairdresser to join our dynamic salon team. This entry-level role offers an excellent opportunity to develop a broad range of skills within the hair and beauty industry, including customer service, styling, and specialised treatments. The ideal candidate will be passionate about hairdressing, eager to learn, and committed to delivering exceptional client experiences. This paid position is suitable for individuals looking to start their career in a professional salon environment with potential for growth and development.

Duties

Assisting senior stylists with hair cutting, colouring, and styling procedures
Providing basic hair treatments such as washing, blow-drying, and styling
Supporting the front desk team with appointment scheduling and client enquiries
Ensuring the salon environment remains clean, organised, and welcoming
Learning and applying techniques for eyelash extensions and makeup application under supervision
Engaging with clients to understand their needs and offering personalised advice
Upselling additional services or products to enhance client satisfaction and salon revenue
Mentoring new team members as experience grows
Managing store management tasks including stock replenishment and maintaining product displays

Experience

Previous experience in hairdressing or beauty therapy is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided
Strong communication skills with the ability to connect effectively with clients and team members
Experience in barbering, eyelash extensions, or makeup application is a plus
Proven customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanour
Ability to work well within a team environment and take direction from senior staff
Organised with good time management skills to handle multiple appointments efficiently
