Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated Graduate Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team. This entry-level role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your career within the construction and civil engineering sectors. The successful candidate will assist in cost management, project measurement, and financial control, contributing to the successful delivery of projects. A strong focus on cost control and attention to detail are essential for this position, which provides valuable hands-on experience in a professional environment.

Duties

Assist in preparing detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects
Support the measurement and valuation of work completed on site
Monitor project costs and identify potential overspends or savings opportunities
Assist in procurement processes, including tendering and supplier negotiations
Maintain accurate records of project costs and variations
Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and clients to ensure financial targets are met
Contribute to the preparation of progress reports and financial documentation
Support the team in ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and health & safety standards

Qualifications

Recent graduate with a degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field
Strong understanding of cost control principles within construction projects
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
Good communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required
Proficiency in relevant software such as MS Office Suite; experience with industry-specific programmes is advantageous
Enthusiastic attitude with a willingness to learn and develop professional skills
