Full job description

SELF EMPLOYED POSITION
We are seeking a talented and professional Hair Stylist / Barber to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for delivering exceptional hair and grooming services, creating a welcoming environment for clients, and contributing to the overall success of our salon. This role offers opportunities for personal growth, skill development, and the chance to work in a vibrant, client-focused setting.

Duties

Provide a wide range of hair styling, cutting, colouring, and grooming services tailored to individual client needs
Perform specialised treatments such as eyelash extensions and makeup application as required
Offer personalised consultations to recommend suitable styles and products
Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in all work areas and tools
Manage appointment scheduling at the front desk, ensuring efficient client flow
Upsell retail products and additional services to enhance client satisfaction and salon revenue
Mentor junior staff or apprentices, sharing expertise and fostering a collaborative environment
Assist with store management tasks including stock replenishment and maintaining visual merchandising standards
Deliver excellent customer service by building rapport with clients and addressing their concerns professionally

Skills

Proven experience in barbering or hair styling with a strong portfolio of work
Knowledge of store management practices and retail upselling techniques
Skilled in eyelash extensions, makeup application, and other beauty treatments (nice-to-have)
Exceptional communication skills to engage with clients effectively and understand their needs
Strong customer service orientation with the ability to create a welcoming atmosphere
Ability to mentor junior team members and foster a positive team environment
Organised with excellent time management skills to handle appointments efficiently
Adaptable with a keen eye for detail and current trends in hairdressing and grooming industries
