We are seeking a proactive and skilled Mechanic / Mobile Plant Fitter to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and servicing a variety of mobile plant equipment and machinery across multiple sites. Your expertise will ensure the smooth operation of heavy-duty equipment, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity.
Aquarius Rail, work a four-day week (Monday to Thursday 7.30am - 5.00pm)
Duties for this role include but are not limited to:
- Ensure and carry out the smooth, safe and efficient maintenance and manufacture of the Aquarius vehicles and attachments.
- Service, maintain, and manufacture Aquarius vehicles and attachments.
- Analyse, diagnose reported defects and decide on repairs to be undertaken.
- Decide upon the parts required and order through the designated person.
- Collect parts from local suppliers.
- Prepare vehicles for MOTs.
- Respond to breakdowns on the road and analyze the repair required, undertake repair, or arrange for recovery collection.
- Ensure the workshop meets the requirements of the company management.
- Maintain records to meet the requirements of the Aquarius company policies and procedures, including the requirements of the VAB, Network Rail standards, Environment Agency, partner Compliance Schemes and other commercial agencies and internal management and efficiency needs.
- Carry out other duties and training as required commensurate with the post and capability of the jobholder, as requested by the Workshop Manager / Company Management.
To be successful, you will ideally have:
- Basic IT Skills. Good communication skills.
- Must be qualified to Motor Mechanic/Vehicle Maintenance NVQ Level 3 or be time served.
- Experience in maintaining commercial vehicles of types used by the Company.
- Health & Safety training in manual handling, safe workshop procedures, and use of vehicle ancillary equipment.
- Full driving license.
- Transport to work at our rural location: HG4 3JB
