Customer Support Technician (Industrial Pumping Products)

An exciting opportunity to join a company in a thriving UK industry, supporting customers with the selection, supply and ongoing use of industrial pumps and associated products. The role combines customer service, sales, product guidance and troubleshooting. You will help customers find practical solutions across our product range and portfolio. Full product training will be provided.

Please note: this role relates to industrial pumping equipment and mechanical products and is not an IT or software support position.

It has built a reputation as a trusted and knowledgeable pump supplier with over 30 years of experience in providing pumping solutions to agricultural, industrial, domestic, and commercial customers

This is an office-based role located in the Boughton, Newark, Nottingham NG22 area.

Duties & Responsibilities

Respond to customer enquiries via telephone, email and in person at Whisper Pumps.
Provide product guidance and assist customers in selecting suitable equipment for their application.
Prepare quotations
Look for upsell opportunities and convert quotations into orders.
Process customer orders and maintain accurate records.
Provide installation, operation and maintenance guidance.
Respond to customer queries and assist with troubleshooting equipment-related issues.
Liaise with suppliers and internal departments to resolve customer enquiries.
Willingness to work hands-on with products to understand their operation, functionality and customer benefits.
Develop and maintain strong customer relationships.

Skills & Experience

Practical, analytical and engineering-minded approach to problem solving.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Interest in industrial equipment, mechanical products, or engineering-related industries.
Self-motivated, organised, and able to manage multiple priorities.
Desire to learn and develop product knowledge.
Inquisitive approach to understanding customer requirements and identifying solutions.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work well with a team and support colleagues.
Competent user of standard business software packages.
Full UK driving licence.

Experience within pumps, water systems, industrial distribution, engineering supplies, manufacturing, maintenance, automotive, merchanting, trade counter, internal sales, or customer service environments would be advantageous but is not essential.
