Private Estate – North Wales / Cheshire Border
A rare opportunity has arisen for a passionate and hardworking gardener to join a prestigious private estate on the North Wales / Cheshire border.
Set within 15 acres of formal and informal gardens, orchards, rose gardens, herbaceous borders, cut flower beds, greenhouses, lawns, ponds, and woodland, the estate is currently undergoing an exciting programme of development and improvement.
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic gardener to work alongside and support the Head Gardener in maintaining and developing the gardens and grounds to an exceptionally high standard.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys varied outdoor work, takes pride in their work, and is looking to become part of a long-term estate project.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with the maintenance and development of the estate gardens and grounds
- Lawn care including mowing, edging, scarifying, fertilising, and aerating
- Pruning, hedge trimming, planting, weeding, and mulching
- Care and maintenance of borders, flower beds, shrubs, trees, orchards, and greenhouses
- Monitoring irrigation and watering systems
- Safe operation and maintenance of horticultural machinery including hedge trimmers, strimmer’s, pedestrian mowers, and ride-on tractors
- Supporting the Head Gardener with seasonal tasks and wider estate projects
- Ensuring all areas are maintained and presented to the highest standards
Candidate Requirements
- Level 2 Qualification in Horticulture or a minimum of 3 years’ proven gardening experience
- Full clean UK driving licence
- Physically fit and capable of manual outdoor work in all weather conditions
- Good practical knowledge of gardening machinery and safe working practices
- Reliable, trustworthy, and hardworking
- Passionate about horticulture with a positive and proactive attitude
- Able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Excellent attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards
Package
- Salary up to £35,000 per annum depending on experience
- Full-time position – 40 hours per week (flexibility required)
- 25 days holiday plus bank holidays

Pay: Up to £35,000.00 per year
