Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Carpenter/Joiner to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking 1st fix & 2nd fix carpentry mostly working on void houses. Ensuring high standards of quality and safety. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work on diverse projects within the construction industry, contributing to both residential and commercial developments. The ideal applicant will have a strong background in carpentry and joinery, with experience in handling a variety of tools and materials.
Duties
- Assemble structures using hand tools, power tools, and joinery techniques.
- Install all types of internal carpentry work such as kitchens, stud work, internal doors, skirting boards & architrave, fencing & other types of carpentry.
- Perform heavy lifting of materials and components safely and efficiently.
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations at all times.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople such as masons, electricians, and plumbers to complete projects on time.
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace throughout each project phase.
Skills
- Proven experience in fabrication, assembly, and carpentry/joinery techniques
- Proficiency with hand tools (saws, chisels, hammers) and power tools (drills, sanders, saws)
- Knowledge of roofing systems, construction painting, plumbing, masonry, and electrical experience is advantageous
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during installation processes
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
- Good communication skills to work effectively within a team environment
- Physical fitness suitable for demanding manual labour tasks
- Able to work on your own at times
