Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Roofer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have experience in roofing installation and repair, with a strong understanding of various construction trades. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects, from residential to commercial buildings, ensuring high standards of safety and quality. The position is paid and suitable for individuals committed to craftsmanship and safety in the building industry.

Responsibilities

Install, repair, and maintain roofing systems using appropriate materials such as tiles, shingles, or metal sheets
Measure and cut roofing materials accurately using hand tools and power tools
Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and building codes
Assist with related tasks including carpentry, masonry, or plumbing as required on site
Use fabrication techniques to modify materials for specialised roofing applications
Work collaboratively with team members to complete projects efficiently and to high standards
Maintain a clean and organised work environment at all times

Qualifications

Proven experience in roofing installation and repair
Knowledge of carpentry, construction painting, plumbing, masonry, welding, electrical work, and fabrication is advantageous
Proficiency with hand tools and power tools used in roofing and construction trades
Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
Physical fitness to perform demanding tasks including lifting heavy materials and working at heights
Valid relevant qualifications or certifications are preferred but not essential
A commitment to safety practices on site is mandatory
