Term Time Only

Monday to Friday 8:30 am-4:30 pm

(Flexible for additional hours if needed)

Qualified Level 3 or above

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursery Practitioner Level 3 to join our vibrant early childhood education team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the development and well-being of children within our nursery setting. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work in a nurturing environment that values professional growth and high standards of childcare.

Duties will include:

· Adhering to the policies and procedures of Woodlands Extra and compliance with the Children Act, Health and Safety legislation and within the guidelines of Ofsted.

· Ensuring confidentiality is maintained in the nursery.

· Working as part of a team, supporting colleagues, room lead and deputy manager.

· The care and supervision of the children regarding their physical, emotional and intellectual needs.

· Working with the Manager, Deputy Manager and Room Lead on planning and preparation of activities to meet the children’s individual needs, liaising with parents and negotiating working targets, ensuring effective communication within the nursery.

· Offering all children equal opportunities with regard to their religious persuasion, racial origins, gender, disabilities, cultural or linguistic background: in particular, challenge situations where racism or discrimination is displayed.

· Keeping development records and observations. Two-year checks, EYFS reports.

· Positive management of children’s behaviour e.g. speech, language an behaviour. See advice where necessary

· Preparation, care, cleanliness and maintenance of the classrooms and equipment.

· Providing a good role model for students and helping new staff to fit into the nursery,

· Keeping accident, incident and risk assessment records. Daily checklists, injury on arrival forms, nappy change log records daily, sleep charts completed.

· Supervision of meals and mealtimes. Needs are met, and all religious and dietary requirements are observed.

· Attendance at staff meetings as arranged by the manager.

· Participating in regular parents’ evenings, publicity and children’s outings.

· Any other duties appropriate to the post as directed by the manager or deputy manager.

· Keyworker role. Ensuring British values are adhered to. Displays erected, resources kept well stocked and secure. Planning – ensuring all areas of development are met. Ensuring good communication with parents and carers.

· Liaising with other settings. Peer observations.

· Ensuring your CPD is updated, food hygiene and safeguarding.

Pay: From £13.68 per hour
