Job Overview

We are looking to add to our team at John Watt Catering

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes, ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation. This role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals with a strong background in food preparation to contribute to a dynamic dining environment. The successful applicant will demonstrate excellent kitchen organisation, adhere to food safety regulations, and deliver exceptional service to our guests.

Responsibilities

Prepare, cook, and present a wide range of dishes in accordance with menu specifications and quality standards
Assist in the development of new recipes and menu items to enhance our offerings alongside our head chef
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management to ensure ingredients are fresh and available
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service delivery
Uphold food safety standards at all times, including proper handling, storage, and disposal of ingredients
Support training of junior kitchen staff and interns as required
Ensure all food is prepared efficiently and within designated timeframes

Qualifications

Strong skills in food preparation, cooking, and meal presentation
Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hygiene
Experience with restaurant operations and serving procedures is advantageous
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively
Formal culinary training or equivalent qualification is preferred but not essential for highly experienced candidates

This role provides an excellent platform for passionate chefs eager to develop their skills within a vibrant culinary team.

This positition will also require some shifts at other sites with in the business a chance to learn other skills.

Succesful applicants will ideally have there own transport.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: From £14.00 per hour
