Overview

Tooltech are a precision engineering company, serving the aerospace, defence and power generation sectors with bespoke, one-off tooling solutions. As we continue to expand, we’re seeking a Trainee CNC Programmer/Operator to join our high-performing team.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a collaborative, forward-thinking environment where craftsmanship, innovation, and quality are at the heart of everything we do.

We are keen to hear from individuals who have worked in, or have an interest in engineering and are keen to learn and develop new skills.

As a trainee CNC Operator, full training will be provided to give you the skills to manufacture parts to a very high standard. You must be able to follow instructions and have an eye for detail and quality.

Responsibilities

Program, set and operate CNC vertical milling machines using Heidenhain controls
Work from detailed engineering drawings producing precision components
Predominantly machining one-off and small batch parts
Run CAM-generated programs with precision and efficiency, carrying out all relevant checking procedures
Inspect and monitor machining processes to ensure quality and accuracy
Ensure high quality standards are met through self inspection of work using precision measuring equipment
Collaborate closely with our in-house design and CAM team to deliver custom tooling solutions and resolve any technical issues that may arise along the way
Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to safety standards at all times

Experience

Detail-oriented and capable of working to tight tolerances
Self motivated, a strong communicator and a team player
Takes Pride in their work
Reliable and keen to learn new skills
Familiar with aerospace or power generation sectors (preferred but not essential)

This role offers an excellent pathway for individuals interested in developing a career in CNC machining, programming, or manufacturing engineering. Candidates should demonstrate a keen interest in technical work, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude towards learning.

Working Hours & Benefits

38-hour flat week
Monday–Thursday: 7:00am–3:30pm
Friday: 7:00am–1:00pm
