You will have a variety of cases working in our hospital, across our exotics practice and also at our branch in Moor Allerton. With 30 years of experience, we offer a range of annual team events, regular practice meetings, and one-on-one career development and professional coaching for all staff.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Maintain a high standard of patient care under direction of the VS or RVN.
- Communicate with the supervising VS and RVN on basic status of inpatients.
- Communicate effectively with clients when performing reception and client-based duties and maintain a high professional standard.
- Assist with setting up for clinical procedures and support the VS and RVN in all required procedures.
- Establish and maintain a good working relationship with all members of the practice. Always adhere to IVC Evidensia policies and animal welfare standards.
- Adhere to all SOP’s and implement updates where required.
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and biosecurity throughout the building.
- Support the practice with new initiatives.
- Provide individual feeding support (hand feed, provision of preferred feeding bowls etc) to ensure the patient is receiving correct nutrition and support the patient in getting back to normal feeding and drinking behaviour.
- Support the clinical team and client with end-of-life care and support.
- Cover reception duties as and when required.
Working Pattern
This is a full-time permanent role working 40 hours per week on a rota basis. There will be a mixture of shifts across Mon-Fri and some weekend work on a rota. You will have a variety of cases working in our hospital, across our exotics practice and also at our branch in Moor Allerton. You are a reliable and motivated individual who enjoys working as part of a team and is keen to develop within a veterinary environment. You’ll bring:
- A caring, professional approach with a genuine interest in animal welfare
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and clients
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage tasks effectively in a busy environment
- A proactive attitude to learning, with openness to feedback and development
- Experience of working with animals in either a clinical or non-clinical setting would be advantageous
