Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Commis Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist in food preparation, support kitchen operations, and contribute to delivering exceptional dining experiences. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong interest in culinary arts, hospitality, and food safety to develop their skills within a professional environment.

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation and cooking of dishes according to established recipes and standards
Support senior chefs in food production and presentation
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in compliance with food safety regulations
Assist with stock control, receiving deliveries, and storing ingredients appropriately
Contribute to maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety within the kitchen
Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations
Serve food efficiently during service times, ensuring guest satisfaction
Support supervising staff in managing junior team members when required

Requirements

Prior experience in a kitchen environment or culinary setting is preferred but not essential; enthusiasm for learning is key
Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service periods
Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
Supervising experience or leadership qualities are advantageous but not mandatory
Experience in food production, restaurant service, or hospitality sectors is desirable
A proactive attitude towards food preparation, cooking, and serving duties
