Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Childcare Assistant to support the daily care and development of children within our organisation. The ideal candidate will be passionate about early childhood education, nurturing, and creating a safe, engaging environment for young learners. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in childcare while contributing positively to children's growth and well-being.

Duties

Assist in supervising children during play, learning activities, and mealtimes to ensure their safety and engagement.
Support the planning and implementation of age-appropriate educational activities that promote social, emotional, and cognitive development.
Maintain a clean, organised, and welcoming environment suitable for young children.
Observe and record children's progress and behaviour, reporting any concerns to senior staff or parents as appropriate.
Support children with personal care routines such as toileting, dressing, and feeding when necessary.
Foster positive relationships with children, encouraging their independence and confidence.
Collaborate with team members to ensure a smooth daily routine and uphold organisational policies and procedures.

Experience

Prior experience working with children in a childcare setting, nursery, or similar environment is advantageous.
Level 2 Childcare a minimum.
Safeguarding Training would be advantageous, but if not training can be done.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with children and colleagues.
A caring, patient demeanour with a genuine interest in supporting children's development.
Basic understanding of child safeguarding principles and health & safety regulations relevant to childcare environments.
Ability to organise activities effectively whilst maintaining flexibility to adapt as needed. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about early childhood education who wish to develop their skills within a supportive team environment. All positions are paid, reflecting the value of your contribution to our organisation.

Job Type: Temp to perm

Pay: £11.00-£13.00 per hour
