Summary

We are looking for a Senior IT Developer to join our IT development team in Lancaster City Centre.

This role is focused on maintaining, supporting, and improving a complex business-critical system built across a mixed technology stack. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring system reliability, resolving issues, and supporting ongoing development as we transition to newer platforms.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a senior developer who will:

Maintain and support a legacy system built using Classic ASP, C#, and SQL Server
Diagnose and resolve issues in a live production environment
Develop and maintain integrations with third-party systems (APIs / Webhooks)
Support ongoing improvements and enhancements across the system
Work across both front-end and back-end codebases where needed
Assist with documentation and knowledge sharing
Support transition towards modern platforms where appropriate

You must have the following

5+ years development experience
Strong SQL Server knowledge (queries, performance, debugging)
Strong C# programming skills
Experience working with Classic ASP / legacy web technologies
Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills
Experience working with APIs and integrations
Strong understanding of how systems interact across a full stack environment
Experience using source control tools (Git)
Experience working in Visual Studio or similar environments

Ideally but not essential

Experience with ASP.NET (Web Forms / MVC / Razor)
Experience with JavaScript / HTML / CSS
Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps / Power Automate)
Experience with Azure (Functions, integrations)
Experience with modern front-end frameworks (Angular / React)
Understanding of system architecture and design patterns

£45,000.00 - £65,000.00 Per Annum D.O.E

Hours of work

Monday - Friday 9.00am - 5.00pm
