Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented MOT Tester to join our automotive service team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting safety inspections and ensuring vehicles meet the required standards for roadworthiness. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for vehicle maintenance and a strong understanding of mechanical systems. The MOT Tester will play a vital part in maintaining high safety standards and providing exceptional service to our customers.

Responsibilities

Conduct thorough MOT tests on a variety of vehicle makes and models in accordance with legal and safety standards
Inspect vehicle components including brakes, tyres, lights, suspension, and exhaust systems
Identify any faults or defects and advise customers on necessary repairs or maintenance
Complete detailed inspection reports accurately and efficiently
Maintain compliance with all relevant legislation and industry regulations
Ensure all testing equipment is calibrated and maintained properly
Assist with general vehicle maintenance tasks as required, including minor repairs and adjustments
Keep the work area clean, organised, and safe at all times

Experience

Proven experience as an MOT Tester or in a similar automotive inspection role
Strong mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems and components
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling vehicles or parts
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
Relevant qualifications such as Level 3 MOT Testing Licence (desirable but not essential)
Valid UK driving licence with a clean driving record
