We are looking for a professional, reliable, and customer-focused Bus Driver to join our team and support our transport operations.
The Role
As a Bus Driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting passengers while delivering outstanding customer service. You will ensure all journeys are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company policies and UK transport regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate company buses on designated routes and services.
- Conduct daily vehicle safety inspections and defect reporting.
- Ensure passenger safety at all times.
- Provide excellent customer service and assistance to passengers.
- Maintain accurate records as required.
- Adhere to all road traffic laws, company procedures, and transport regulations.
- Manage ticketing or passenger records where applicable.
- Report incidents, accidents, or vehicle defects promptly.
- Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude.
Essential Requirements
Applicants must:
- Hold a valid UK Category D (PCV) Driving Licence.
- Hold a valid Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (Driver CPC).
- Hold a valid Digital Tachograph Driver Card (where applicable).
- Have the legal right to work in the United Kingdom.
- Be able to pass company reference checks and DBS.
- Demonstrate excellent driving skills and a strong safety record.
- Have good communication and customer service skills.
- Be willing to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays where required.
Desirable Requirements
- Previous bus, coach, or passenger transport experience.
- Knowledge of Sunderland and surrounding areas.
- Experience working in customer-facing environments.
- First Aid qualification.
