We are looking for a Finance Assistant with a minimum of 3 years' experience of working within a finance department with experience using Sage 50 Accounts (or another similar accounting software package). There’s free on-site parking available and we take a hybrid approach to working with a minimum of 3 days in the office, once probation has been successfully passed.
This role is 4 days a week, working pattern to be agreed.
Salary in the range of £25,000 – £30,000 FTE per annum, depending on experience.
Role:
The Finance team is responsible for overseeing all finance matters with respect to Harbour Rock Capital Limited and the other companies within the group. This is a key support role requiring exceptional attention to detail, organisation skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
You will report to the Finance Director and assist with day-to-day duties including (but not limited to):
- Bank reconciliations
- Managing, processing and paying invoices
- Monitoring and processing expenses and credit cards
- Monthly and ad hoc posting of journals in Sage 50 Accounts
- Posting and reconciling intercompany transactions
- Assisting in monthly income audits and reconciliations in our CRM system
- Expenditure reviews
- Various monthly reconciliations
- Processing of prepayments and accruals
- Assisting in the preparation of monthly management accounts
- Assisting with the annual audit
- Assisting in the preparation of FCA submissions
- Updating daily cashflow
- Assisting in processing monthly payroll
- Monitoring and actioning 3 department inboxes
- Ad hoc duties requested by the Finance Director
- Adhering to the FCA’s principles for business
- Adhering to the individual conduct rules in COCON
An ideal candidate for this role would:
- Have the right to work in the UK
- Be part qualified (or actively studying) or fully qualified AAT accountant, or qualified by experience
- Have a minimum of three years’ experience of working within a finance department
- Have previous experience using Sage 50 Accounts or another similar accounting software package
- Have good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Have outstanding attention to detail, be organised and work well under pressure
- Be self-motivated and willing to volunteer for new tasks
Please note training will be provided.
