Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Bank Cook/Kitchen Assistant to join our team. This role involves assisting with food preparation and meal service in a busy kitchen environment, ensuring high standards of food safety and hygiene. The position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for culinary arts and experience in food service to develop their skills further. The successful candidate will work closely with our kitchen staff to support the smooth operation of meal services, primarily during scheduled shifts. Responsibilities

Assist with food preparation, including chopping, assembling ingredients, and portioning meals according to established recipes and standards
Support the cooking process by following instructions from senior kitchen staff
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, sanitising work surfaces, and disposing of waste appropriately
Ensure all food safety and hygiene regulations are adhered to at all times
Help with serving meals to residents or customers in a timely and courteous manner
Restock supplies and ingredients as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations
Follow health and safety guidelines to prevent accidents or contamination within the kitchen environment
Support other kitchen staff during busy periods, contributing to a collaborative team effort

Skills

Experience in food preparation or cooking within a professional kitchen setting is desirable
Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
Ability to follow instructions accurately and efficiently
Good organisational skills with an eye for cleanliness and detail
Previous restaurant or catering experience is advantageous but not essential
