Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Baby Room Leader to oversee the care and development of infants within our childcare facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a genuine passion for working with young children. This role offers an opportunity to lead a team, ensure high standards of childcare, and create a nurturing environment for our youngest learners. The Baby Room Leader will be responsible for implementing age-appropriate activities, maintaining safety protocols, and fostering positive relationships with children and their families.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise a team of nursery staff to deliver high-quality care and early childhood education
Plan and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate activities tailored to infants’ needs
Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children in the Baby Room at all times
Maintain accurate records of children's progress, attendance, and health information
Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding children's development and daily routines
Uphold compliance with all childcare regulations, policies, and procedures
Foster a warm, caring environment that promotes emotional security and learning
Manage daily operational tasks including organising resources and maintaining cleanliness of the nursery environment
Support staff development through coaching, training, and mentorship

Qualifications

Proven experience working with children in a nursery or early childhood education setting
Previous management or leadership experience within childcare is highly desirable
Strong understanding of child development principles and childcare regulations
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and lead others with confidence
Childcare qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent are essential.
Valid driving licence is advantageous for travel between multiple nursery locations or community engagements
Passionate about early childhood education with a nurturing approach to caring for infants

Pay: £13.00-£16.00 per hour
