Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join our team in a vibrant kitchen environment. As a Kitchen Porter, you will play a crucial role in supporting the culinary team by ensuring that the kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently. This position is ideal for individuals looking to gain experience in the hospitality and culinary sectors, including those interested in food preparation and cooking.

Responsibilities

Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including washing dishes, pots, and pans.
Assist with food preparation tasks as directed by chefs or cooks.
Ensure all kitchen equipment is cleaned and stored properly after use.
Help maintain inventory levels by assisting with stock rotation and reporting low supplies.
Support chefs during busy service periods by providing timely assistance.
Adhere to health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe working environment.
Assist with waste disposal and recycling efforts in accordance with company policies.

Skills

Previous experience in a kitchen or hospitality environment is advantageous but not essential.
A keen interest in culinary arts and food preparation.
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Good communication skills and a willingness to work as part of a team.
Basic knowledge of health and safety standards within a kitchen setting.
