Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Mechanic/Technician to join our team. This role involves maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a variety of equipment to ensure optimal operational performance. The successful candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, be adept with hand and power tools, and demonstrate excellent problem-solving abilities. Prior experience with schematics, assembly, welding, and equipment maintenance is highly desirable. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where technical expertise and customer service skills are valued.

Duties

Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment
Diagnose faults using schematics and technical manuals
Repair or replace faulty components, including performing welding when necessary
Assemble new equipment or parts following technical specifications
Utilise hand tools and power tools safely and effectively during maintenance tasks
Perform heavy lifting as required to move or install machinery
Maintain detailed records of repairs, maintenance activities, and parts used
Assist in troubleshooting complex mechanical issues to minimise downtime
Ensure all work complies with safety standards and company policies
Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repairs and maintenance needs

Skills

Strong understanding of schematics and mechanical systems
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment
Experience in assembly, equipment repair, and routine maintenance tasks
Mechanical knowledge to diagnose issues accurately and efficiently
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively
Good organisational skills for record keeping and task prioritisation
Excellent customer service skills to liaise professionally with clients
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
