About Us

Barleycorn Mildenhall is a growing family run business with multiple locations in West Suffolk & the surrounding areas. We pride ourselves on providing a familiar, friendly service where we always have time for our customers.

This cafe is located inside Turners distribution centre in Soham, where we run their staff canteen. We specialise in fried breakfasts, home-cooked meals and yummy treats!

The Role

We are looking for a member of staff to work every Monday, Tuesday & Friday, 7am til 3pm and Thursdays 10.30 - 2.30. This would be a minimum of 28 hours per week. There may also be extra hours to cover sickness and holidays throughout the week so we would require a certain level of flexibility.

Your roles and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

Interacting with customers and taking orders.
Basic food preparation & cooking (including making sandwiches, toasties, plating food etc. as well as using a deep fat fryer).
Serving of cakes and savoury pastries.
Clearing and cleaning tables.
Taking payment and handling cash.
Restocking items on shelves and in fridges and freezers.
Maintaining food hygiene and safety standards.
Ensuring all processes run smoothly to support management.
Thorough end of day clean-down.
End of day cashing up.

Experience in a Cafe/catering environment is preferred however full training can be provided for the right candidate.

References are essential. Applicants MUST be 18+ due to site access restrictions. Previous applicants need not apply.
