Experienced Support Workers (2 Positions) – St Austell
Location: St Austell
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 3:00 pm (140 hours per month)
We are seeking two highly experienced Support Workers to work together as a dedicated team, providing exceptional support to a gentleman living independently in his own home in St Austell.

We are looking for individuals who communicate effectively, work collaboratively, and are committed to building a positive and consistent working relationship with both the client and each other.
About the Role
Our client has lived with paraplegia for over 40 years and lives at home with his wife, who works as a nurse. Your role will be to provide companionship, practical support, and encouragement, enabling him to maintain his independence and continue enjoying an active and fulfilling lifestyle.
As these roles involve supporting one individual, it is essential that both Support Workers work closely together, communicate openly, and provide a consistent approach to support. We believe that teamwork, reliability, and professionalism are key to delivering the highest standard of care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide companionship and meaningful day-to-day support.
- Assist with household tasks, encouraging the client to remain as independent as possible.
- Support the client with community access, including:
- Weekly shopping
- Medical appointments
- Social outings
- Reposition the client in his wheelchair when required.
- Empty the client's suprapubic catheter leg drainage bag as required (please note, no personal care is involved).
- Promote dignity, choice, independence, and wellbeing at all times.
- Work collaboratively with your colleague to ensure seamless, consistent, and high-quality support.

He is looking for Support Workers who are approachable, dependable, and enjoy building genuine, professional relationships.
Essential Requirements
- Significant experience working as a Support Worker, Personal Assistant, or in a similar role.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Confidence driving a mobility-adapted vehicle.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work closely with another experienced Support Worker to provide consistent, person-centred support.
- Compassionate, reliable, and committed to promoting independence.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (rolling DBS) is highly desirable.

Pay: £13.15-£13.65 per hour
