Are you a PhD researcher looking to develop your teaching experience, inspire future talent and share your specialist knowledge with learners?

Oldham College is working in partnership with The University of Manchester to offer paid teaching opportunities for PhD researchers across a range of specialist curriculum areas. This is an exciting opportunity to gain valuable teaching experience alongside your doctoral studies while helping to shape the next generation of professionals and innovators.

About the Role

As a Tutor, you will deliver engaging and industry-informed learning to learners studying on programmes ranging from Level 3 to Level 6, depending on your subject specialism and the curriculum area. You will bring current research, academic expertise and subject knowledge into the classroom, helping learners understand the latest developments within your discipline.

Teaching opportunities are available on a flexible, part-time basis, subject to curriculum need and your availability, making them ideal for researchers looking to gain teaching experience alongside their doctoral studies.

Who We're Looking For

You should:

Be a current PhD researcher or nearing completion of your doctoral studies.
Have specialist knowledge in one of the curriculum areas listed above.
Be passionate about education and widening participation.
Be able to communicate complex concepts clearly and effectively.
Have the ability to engage, motivate and inspire learners.
Previous teaching experience is welcome but not essential, as training and support will be provided.
