Technical Sales Representative – Electric Motors, Drives, Gearboxes & Controls
Location: Wellingborough, Northamptonshire
Motor Technical Services Ltd (MTS) is recruiting a Technical Sales Representative based in Northamptonshire or regionally commutable. This field-based role focuses on developing business for electric motor repair and rewind services, while also supporting sales of gearboxes, variable speed drives, controls, sensors, PLC-related systems, spare parts, and condition-based maintenance solutions.
Responsibilities
· Generate new business and expand existing industrial accounts
· Sell repair, rewind, refurbishment, and maintenance services for rotating equipment
· Support sales of motors, gearboxes, drives, controls, sensors, PLC-related systems, and spare parts
· Survey customer requirements and specify practical technical solutions
· Develop opportunities for vibration analysis, thermography, and remote condition monitoring
· Prepare quotations, manage follow-up, and convert enquiries into profitable work
· Attend customer meetings and site visits across industrial environments
Requirements
· Background in technical sales, engineering, field service, or industrial maintenance
· Working knowledge of motors, drives, gear systems, controls, or related electromechanical equipment
· Ability to interpret customer applications and recommend suitable solutions
· Commercial awareness and strong customer-facing communication skills
· Practical, self-motivated, and able to work independently in the field
