Full job description

GLE are a renewable energy contractor who specialise in the de-carbonisation of commercial properties throughout the UK. We offer our clients expertise throughout the full life cycle of their de-carbonisation journey, whether that is the initial carbon reduction feasibility studies and design, right the way through to the management, delivery and commissioning of associated systems.

Overview
As a Graduate/Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will be under the direction of the Commercial Director as they guide you through their processes, to provide you with a solid foundation in which to kick-start and progress your career.

The ideal candidate will have a degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying. However, we also welcome applications from candidates with relevant work experience and a willingness to learn. Excellent numerical skills, Excel proficiency and attention to detail are essential, as well as strong communication and team-working abilities.

Duties

Assist in the management of sub-contractor packages from appointment to final account.
Taking the lead with commercial matters with clients.
The submission of valuations and variations on schemes.
Providing monthly cost reports in line with project budgets.
Building close working relationship with Project Manger’s and site teams to deliver quality projects.
Identifying cost issues.
Visit on site to view works completed, quality and management of costs.
Undertaking any other duties as allocated.
Estimating cost planning.
Contract administration and cost control.
Measuring and Valuing works on site
Final account preparation.
Ensure adherence to Sub-Contracts and sub-contractor payments.

Requirements

A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field is essential.
Strong understanding of cost control principles and practices.
Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
