Full job description

At Dove Lodge, we are excited to recruit a compassionate and dedicated Senior Support Worker and/or a Support Worker who is interested in training and progressing into a senior role.

Dove Lodge is a welcoming 31-bed residential care home located in the beautiful seaside town of Exmouth. Our aim has always been to provide a warm, friendly, and homely environment for both residents and staff.

Shift Patterns

Our shifts are a mixture of:

07:00 – 14:00
14:00 – 21:00

The role includes alternate weekend working.

About You

We are looking for individuals who:

Have a genuine passion for person-centred care
Show compassion and empathy in delivering high-quality support
Actively engage with residents and colleagues to enhance residents’ wellbeing and lifestyle opportunities
Champion safeguarding while respecting residents’ rights, dignity, and independence
Work positively as part of a team and support a caring environment

Senior Support Worker Responsibilities

The Senior Support Worker role includes:

Acting as a role model and mentor for support staff
Assisting with all aspects of medication management
Supporting new staff inductions and supervising shadow shifts
Completing shift allocations and overseeing part or full shifts when required
Supervising Support Workers to maintain high standards of care
Reporting concerns or updates to Team Leaders or Shift Leads where necessary

Requirements Senior Support Worker

NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent qualification)

Support Worker Responsibilities

As a Support Worker, you will:

Provide high-quality, person-centred care and support to residents
Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal care where required
Support residents to maintain dignity, independence, and choice
Build positive relationships with residents, relatives, and colleagues
Encourage residents to participate in activities and social engagement
Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with the wider team
Follow safeguarding procedures and health & safety guidelines at all times
Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure residents receive the highest standard of care
Undertake training and development opportunities to progress within your role

Requirements Support Worker

Ideally working towards an NVQ qualification, or willing to undertake training in order to progress into a senior role

We are looking for candidates with strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate approach to care.
