KG Electrical are a specialist electrical contractor based in Harpenden. Since 2013 we've built our reputation on high-end residential work, listed buildings, heritage properties and prestige refurbishments across Hertfordshire and North London. Grade II country estates, five-star hotels, garden lighting schemes and luxury homes where the standard is exceptional and the detail genuinely matters.
This is a senior, predominantly office-based role, and it sits at the heart of the business. We're looking for an experienced NICEIC Qualified Supervisor to take ownership of our technical compliance, certification and quality standards across every project we run. You'll be the person we and our clients rely on to get it right.
How the role works
Our engineers each run their own sites. They manage progress, client contact and day-to-day delivery on their projects. You sit above all of that as the technical and compliance authority: overseeing every live site, signing off the certification, keeping standards consistent across the board, and supporting and training the team as they grow.
The split is roughly 70% office, 25% compliance and site oversight, and around 5% on the tools. It suits an experienced QS who wants to be the authority running things from the office rather than out in a van every day. When a job needs a steer, a technical decision or an extra pair of hands to push it along, you'll be on site. The rest of the time you're running the systems that keep the whole operation compliant and profitable.
What you'll own
- NICEIC Qualified Supervisor responsibilities across all of our electrical work
- Inspection, testing, certification and EICR sign-off to BS 7671, 18th Edition
- Technical standards and quality across every live project
- Compliance systems, documentation and NICEIC assessment readiness
- Estimating and commercial control: quotes, job valuations, monitoring spend against estimates
- Project planning and materials, coordinating with each engineer on their sites
- Overseeing progress across all sites and stepping in where projects need support
- Training, mentoring and developing the engineering team
- General office support that keeps the business running smoothly
Site oversight
Your time on site is about oversight rather than day-to-day supervision. We have a strong site team who run their own projects, so this is spot checks, audits, site meetings and sign-off, supporting engineers on technical issues, and stepping in hands-on when a project is behind and needs pushing along.
What we're looking for
- Proven experience operating as a NICEIC Qualified Supervisor
- Strong on inspection, testing and certification, ideally 2391-52 or equivalent
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation, AM2 and 18th Edition (BS 7671)
- Genuinely capable in the office: systems, documentation, estimating and planning
- Confident with the commercial side, from quoting through to job valuation
- The judgement to spot problems before they happen, rather than just following drawings
- A natural leader who can guide and develop a team
- Familiarity with NICEIC assessments and what a good one looks like
- Full UK driving licence
