We are seeking a reliable, motivated Semi-Skilled Sheet Metal Worker with MIG welding experience to join our growing production team. In this role, you will assist in fabricating high-quality metal components, preparing materials, and welding assemblies to meet production deadlines. - MIG Welding: Perform consistent, high-quality MIG welding on various steel components and gauges.
- Metal Fabrication: Assist with cutting, drilling, deburring, and folding sheet metal parts using standard workshop machinery.
- Engineering Drawings: Read, interpret, and work accurately from basic technical drawings and blueprints.
- Material Prep: Prepare metal surfaces for welding and clean up finished welds using grinders and sanders.
- Quality Control: Inspect your own work to ensure it meets our strict quality and dimensional standards.
- Workshop Safety: Maintain a clean, organised workspace and strictly adhere to all health and safety regulations.
Experience and Skills Required
- Proven experience working with sheet metal or within a metal manufacturing environment.
- Confident ability to MIG weld to a high, repeatable standard.
- Competent using hand and power tools (e.g., angle grinders, drills, pneumatic tools).
- Basic understanding of engineering drawings and measurement layouts.
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a team-player attitude.
- Ability to lift materials and handle the physical demands of a fabrication workshop.
