Community Team Leader
Exmouth, East Devon
£31,408 per annum
Full Time – 37.5 hours per week

At Orchard View Care Services, we support adults with Learning Disabilities, Autism, and Complex Needs to live fulfilling, independent and meaningful lives within their local communities.

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Community Team Leader to join our growing team in Exmouth. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with previous supervisory experience within health and social care who is ready to take the next step in their leadership career.

As a Community Team Leader, you will work closely with the Registered Manager and wider management team to ensure the delivery of safe, effective and person-centred support while leading and developing a team of dedicated Support Workers.

About the Role

This is a hands-on leadership position where you will be visible within services, leading from the front and supporting both the people we support and your team.

You will be responsible for ensuring high standards of care, maintaining compliance with CQC regulations, promoting positive outcomes, and helping to create an environment where individuals can thrive.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, motivate and supervise a team of Support Workers.
Ensure high-quality person-centred support is delivered in line with individual support plans and risk assessments.
Promote independence, dignity, choice and inclusion for all individuals supported.
Conduct staff supervisions, observations, competency assessments and appraisals.
Support recruitment, induction and ongoing development of staff.
Assist with rota planning to ensure safe staffing levels are maintained.
Oversee medication administration, audits and competency checks.
Participate in service audits, quality monitoring and continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure accurate and timely completion of care records and documentation.
Respond appropriately to incidents, complaints and safeguarding concerns.
Build positive relationships with families, health professionals, commissioners and external agencies.
Support the Registered Manager in maintaining compliance with CQC standards and organisational policies.
Promote Active Support, Positive Behaviour Support and person-centred practices throughout the service.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent).
Experience supporting adults with Learning Disabilities, Autism and/or Complex Needs.
Previous experience supervising or leading staff within a care setting.
Good understanding of safeguarding and CQC regulations.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire others.
Competent IT skills and experience maintaining electronic care records.
Full UK Driving Licence and access to your own vehicle.

Desirable:

NVQ Level 4 or Level 5 in Leadership and Management for Adult Care.
Experience managing staffing rotas and workforce planning.
Experience conducting audits and quality assurance checks.
Knowledge of Active Support and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS).
