ART TEACHER (PART-TIME)

Trowbridge, Wiltshire

On Track Advance delivers a post-16 programme designed to provide a dynamic and supportive learning environment where students can excel academically, grow personally, and prepare for their future lives. We foster skills such as critical thinking, creativity, resilience, and teamwork. Our supportive pastoral care ethos ensures that every student feels valued, respected, and equipped to face challenges with confidence. Students study a bespoke programme which is designed to meet their individual needs.

The Role

You will play a key role in delivering engaging and meaningful art education, helping pupils to re-engage with learning, express themselves creatively and achieve positive outcomes. Key responsibilities include:

Teaching Art to secondary-aged pupils, ensuring they develop skills, knowledge and confidence and make good progress.
Planning and delivering a sequenced curriculum that builds learning over time and supports agreed outcomes.
Monitoring pupil progress and adapting teaching to meet individual needs, including timely intervention where required.
Creating a positive, supportive classroom environment that encourages participation and creativity.
Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team and wider staff to support pupils’ academic and emotional development.

Supporting the Thrive Practitioners in 1:1 and Group sessions.

· Maintaining a strong understanding of safeguarding and always prioritising the welfare of pupils.

About You

You will be a creative, committed teacher who is passionate about making a difference to young people. Ideally, you will:

Hold a recognised teaching qualification (QTS, QTLS, PGCE or equivalent preferred).
Be able to teach Art to GCSE and/or Level 2 standard.
Have experience teaching Art to secondary-aged pupils.
Be confident in planning and delivering lessons using a range of teaching approaches.
Have an understanding, or interest in, working with pupils with SEN or additional needs.
Be calm, patient and resilient, with a positive approach to behaviour and engagement.
Demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues.
Be committed to safeguarding, inclusion and supporting every young person to reach their potential.

FTE salary: £27,510 - £34,200 per annum. Pro rata for 2 days a week, and dependent on qualifications and experience

Working hours

Part-time: 2 days per week, chosen by the candidate.

Working hours: 8.30 am to 4.30 pm, Monday to Thursday. School is closed on Fridays.
