Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated Junior Estimator specialising in Passive Fire Protection to join our dynamic team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop their expertise in fire safety systems, project estimation, and cost control within the construction industry. The successful candidate will support senior estimators by preparing accurate cost estimates, analysing project specifications, and assisting with tender submissions. A keen eye for detail and a proactive approach are essential to ensure competitive and precise proposals that meet client requirements and company standards.

Responsibilities

Assist in preparing detailed cost estimates for passive fire protection projects, including materials, labour, and equipment costs.
Analyse project drawings, specifications, and tender documents to determine scope of work and resource requirements.
Support the compilation of tender submissions by gathering quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
Contribute to the development of project budgets and assist in tracking costs throughout the project lifecycle.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to ensure accurate estimation aligned with project objectives.
Maintain organised records of all estimation documentation for future reference and audits.
Support the implementation of cost control measures throughout project execution to optimise profitability.

Experience

Previous experience or internship in construction estimating or a related field is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate.
Strong organisational skills with an ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Basic understanding of passive fire protection systems and construction processes is advantageous.
Demonstrated ability to analyse technical drawings and specifications accurately.
Knowledge of cost control principles within construction or engineering projects is preferred.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a proactive attitude towards learning and professional development. Pay: From £20.00 per hour
