Senior Operative, Morton Pattison

· Full time, permanent contract, £30,000 - £32,000 pa

Role purpose

The purpose of the role will be to lead on site on the practical delivery of countryside and landscape contracting work and to assist in the skills development of members of the team. Examples of the types of work undertaken include:

· Countryside infrastructure/access projects; boardwalks, footbridges, pond dipping platforms, paths, agricultural drainage & water supply, riverbank stabilisation, fencing.

· Habitat creation and management; small tree felling and scrub management, planting & seeding, pond creation and improvements, control of non-native plant species/herbicide application, hibernacula creation, installation of bird and bat boxes.

· Design and Build; Installation of bespoke landscape installations designed by our in-house team, for example biodiversity and educational projects in visitor centres.

This role will be ideal for someone that has been working for several years ‘on the tools’ in landscape or estates management that is looking to develop further in the countryside and ecology area of the landscape sector. There is opportunity to work on large countryside projects and to progress within a structured team.
