Assistant Garden Centre Manager

Full Time – 40 Hours per Week
Fully Flexible, Including Weekends

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Assistant Garden Centre Manager to join our forward-thinking team. This is a hands-on role within a busy, high-volume garden centre environment where no two days are the same.

The successful candidate will have proven retail management experience, strong leadership skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. While plant knowledge would be an advantage, it is not essential. A keen eye for visual merchandising and a commercial mindset are more important.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Garden Centre Manager with the day-to-day running of the centre, including opening and closing procedures
Lead, motivate, and develop the team to deliver outstanding customer service
Oversee stock control, inventory management, and visual merchandising standards
Support the implementation of sales and marketing initiatives to achieve business targets
Resolve customer queries and complaints professionally and efficiently
Analyse sales performance and identify opportunities for improvement
Assist with staff training, development, and performance management
Ensure compliance with company policies and Health & Safety requirements

You will be:

Knowledgeable about Health & Safety standards
Organised, proactive, and confident using IT systems
Physically fit and comfortable with a hands-on role that may involve some heavy lifting
