Role Overview:
We have an exciting opportunity for a hybrid Systems & Quality Support Leader. Reporting to the Head of Technical, this role drives the systems maintenance of Navara’s existing QMS while supporting quality management within the mill and warehousing.
We are looking for an experienced individual with knowledge of revising, maintaining and improving quality systems electronically to support the team in delivering a range of quality products and services.
The role will work closely with all departments to deliver the QMS and ensure Navara is always audit ready.
This role will proactively work with key stakeholders/teams across the business identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
The role will support the operations in all thing’s quality within the processing areas, actively support root cause investigations and implementing preventative actions. This role will be a key member of the team, supporting complaints investigation, audit close out and adherence to existing standards.
Key Behaviours and Skills:
· Proven track record of Quality Assurance and Quality Control in the food industry
· Excellent understanding of BRCGS protocols and other retailers or certification bodies (FEMAS, Halal, Kosher)
· Highly organized and self-motivated, able to work autonomously
· Confident working with IT systems and generating reports
· Experienced in internal auditing and comfortable in customer/accreditation audits.
· Great communicator at all levels with ability to manage conflict professionally.

· Formal Food/Science related qualification with food industry experience
Key Responsibilities:
· To assist with the writing, amending and control of documents on the Quality Management System internal portal.
· Logging and reporting on non-conformances, internal audits, GMP audits, Glass & Hard Plastic audits and customer/accreditation visits or audits. Closing out any non-conformances with stakeholders using root cause analysis.
· Liaising with external laboratories and logging of samples on the external laboratory portal and raising purchase orders. Reporting quarterly on results and updating environmental monitoring plan.
· Be a member of the internal audit team and conduct independent audits in line with the defined schedule. Collate results monthly and co-ordinate the close out of any non-conformances and monthly reporting.
· Work proactively with operational teams to drive conformance and results using the company’s policies, procedures and work instructions.
· Review and log results, both on-site and from external laboratories, against specifications / tolerances and raise and investigate non-conformances for out of specification results and identify opportunities for improvement.
· Maintain the annual testing regime to ensure compliance against schedule.
· Assist NPD with the provision of information and completion of customer requests including assisting with SAQ’s.
· Be a member of the HACCP, TACCP & VACCP teams and ensure risk assessments are maintained and closed out with the stakeholders. Reporting quarterly to the business.
· Deputising on HACCP in the absence of Technical Lead.
· Work with colleagues across the business to investigate complaints and identify opportunities for improvement using root cause analysis.
· Assist in the generation of Certificates of Analysis in conjunction with the laboratory, warehouse and sales departments.
· Maintain calibration matrix, requesting visits in conjunction with the engineering and procurement departments ensuring equipment is always within calibration and fit for purpose.
· Lead for the pest control service on site including the maintenance of the pest control file and liaising with stakeholders to close off any visit observations/recommendations.
· Controlling the inventory of laboratory and hygiene consumables and liaising with procurement to maintain supply.
· Conduct CCP competency assessments as per internal requirements and aid coaching to deliver compliance.
· Participate in site visits/audits to present processes and procedures relevant to the role remit.
· Provide training or coaching where required to share best practice and continuous improvement.
· Participating in traceability exercises where required in conjunction with the wider team
· Support with implementing internal standards and customer protocols.
· Support the hygiene team using the GMP audits to drive improvement of hygiene standards.
· Escalate critical issues promptly where food safety or colleague safety could or has been compromised.
· Ad hoc technical/quality project work where required by the business.
