Full job description

The QEH Dermatology department is a busy but friendly and supportive environment. The team are dedicated to providing the highest standards of patient care. The successful candidate will work closely with a team of 5 substantive Consultants within the Dermatology service, as well as 3 Fellows, General Practitioners with Extended Roles (GPWERs), Clinical Nurse Specialists as well as a developed admin team.

Provide high quality Dermatology care in out-patient clinics for adult and paediatric dermatology patients and perform high quality surgery within the appropriate level of competence.
Participate in the Skin Cancer MDT
Attend required CPD events regularly and the annual Cancer Peer Review meeting.
Perform regular ward rounds with residents. There is no out of hours on call commitment but the Dermatology team are closely involved in the care of in-patients between 9-5pm.
Provide tele dermatology review for the relevant referrals.
Provide high quality support and teaching to GP colleagues in hospital and community.
Provide leadership to the department, encouraging development of services with colleagues both in and outside the trust.

The post holder must be medically qualified (MRCP UK level or equivalent), and maintain GMC specialist registration and hold a licence to practice.
To develop and maintain the competencies required to carry out the duties required of the post.
To ensure prompt attendance at agreed direct clinical care Programmed Activities.
To ensure patients are involved in decisions about their care and to respond to their views.
To attend relevant CPD meetings and keep an appropriate diary demonstrating the required number of annual credits have been achieved.
