Full job description

We are currently looking for a reliable and detail-oriented School Cleaner to join our team and support the daily cleaning of in Leigh-on-Sea. This is a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.

The position involves working Monday to Friday, 3:30pm – 5:30pm (2-hour shifts) during term time. Additional hours may be available during school holidays for deep cleaning.

Responsibilities:

Carry out general cleaning tasks, including dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping
Clean and sanitise classrooms, toilets, staff areas, and communal spaces
Refill hand towels, toilet rolls, and soap dispensers
Empty waste bins and replace liners
Follow health and safety procedures, including colour-coded cleaning and COSHH guidelines
Report any issues, damage, or maintenance needs to the supervisor

Experience:

Previous experience in school or commercial cleaning is preferred
Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and safe use of equipment
Ability to work independently and follow a schedule
Strong attention to detail and reliability
Must be able to pass an Enhanced DBS check (or already hold one)
