Do you have experience working with SEMH and challenging behaviour?
Advantage Education are working with a specialist provision for children with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), whose primary needs are associated with Autism and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH). They are seeking an experienced, resilient and compassionate Senior Behaviour Support Mentor to join our dedicated team and play a key role in helping pupils achieve success both socially and emotionally.
As Senior Behaviour Support Mentor, you will support pupils who experience barriers to learning related to emotional regulation, communication and behaviour. You will work closely with class teams, senior leaders and families to promote positive behaviour, develop effective support strategies and ensure pupils can access learning successfully.
The role includes:
- Leading and modelling positive behaviour support approaches across the school
- Supporting pupils during periods of dysregulation and helping them develop selfregulation skills
- Coaching and supporting staff to implement consistent behaviour strategies
- Monitoring behaviour support plans and contributing to pupil reviews.
- Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils and families
- Working alongside teachers and leaders to create safe, calm and successful learning environments
Role
Full time, 37.5 hours a week for 39 weeks

- Skilled in building positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues
- Confident in supporting and guiding others
- An excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills
- Committed to inclusion, consistency and high expectations for all pupils
- IT skills
- Familiar with Team Teach or other behaviour support programmes
- Experience within SEMH, SEND, pastoral support, behaviour support, youth work, education or care settings would be highly advantageous
