Full job description

Job Overview

We are seeking a SolidWorks Design Engineer to support our engineering team on a 3-month fixed-term contract. Working within the aseptic containment and isolator sector, you will help develop a library of standardised parts, assemblies, and design assets to improve efficiency and consistency across future projects.

Key Responsibilities

Create and maintain high-quality 3D SolidWorks part and assembly models.
Convert existing AutoCAD drawings into SolidWorks models.
Produce sheet metal, bend, weldment, and assembly drawings where required.
Generate NEST files for CNC router processing (via RADAN or similar).
Develop and organise standardised component libraries, templates, and design documentation.
Ensure designs comply with company standards and best practice.
Collaborate with the design team to prioritise and develop key components.
Support the management of the SolidWorks database and PDM environment.

Requirements

Proven SolidWorks experience in a mechanical design environment.
Ability to work from technical drawings and AutoCAD files.
Experience creating NEST files and working with manufacturing drawings.
Strong part and assembly modelling skills.
Knowledge of sheet metal design, fabrication, bending, and weldments.
Experience developing component libraries and design templates.
Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable

Experience with PDM/PLM systems.
Background in pharmaceutical, cleanroom, process equipment, machinery, or other regulated industries.
Knowledge of aseptic processing, containment systems, isolators, or cleanroom equipment.
