Full job description

We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated Nursery Practitioner to join our friendly and supportive nursery team.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about early years education and committed to providing outstanding care and learning experiences for children.

As a Nursery Practitioner, you will help create a safe, stimulating and nurturing environment where every child can learn, develop and thrive.

Key Responsibilities

Provide high-quality care and education in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
Build positive relationships with children, parents, carers and colleagues.
Plan and deliver engaging activities that support children’s individual learning and development.
Observe, assess and record children’s progress.
Act as a key person for a group of children and maintain accurate records.
Promote children’s independence, confidence and emotional wellbeing.
Ensure the environment is safe, clean and welcoming.
Follow all safeguarding, health and safety, and nursery policies and procedures.
Support children’s personal care needs, including nappy changing and toileting where required.
Work collaboratively as part of a team to maintain high standards throughout the setting.
Encourage equality, diversity and inclusion for all children and families.

Essential Requirements

A Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent).
Previous experience working within an early years or childcare setting.
Good understanding of the EYFS framework.
Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A positive, reliable and professional attitude.
A genuine passion for supporting young children’s development.

Desirable

Paediatric First Aid qualification.
Experience as a key person.
Additional training in safeguarding, SEND or behaviour management.
