We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a multidisciplinary team and drive the development of our next-generation solutions. Must have experience in team and project management, preferably in electronic design, software development, product integration and manufacturing.
The Engineering Manager will oversee the planning, development, execution, and completion of engineering projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality and compliance standards.
You'll need to understand the technical details and be comfortable leading a multidisciplinary team to develop, deliver, and support our products and solutions.
An understanding of electronics and electronics design, software development and design, cloud-based applications, IoT-related systems, and identification technologies will be an advantage. A passion for helping the team solve challenges and deliver high-quality products is essential.
Job description and responsibilities
· Oversee the development, execution, and completion of engineering projects across different disciplines.
· Manage and liaise with internal and external stakeholders, suppliers, subcontractors and services.
· Solve technical challenges and deliver results.
· You will expand our development capabilities and ensure that projects align with company goals and the product roadmap.
· Ensure performance optimisation and efficient use of engineering resources.
· Design, implement, and refine processes to improve efficiency, sustainability, and reduce waste.
· Communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders, such as customers and other company members.
· Ensure processes and products meet quality standards and safety compliance guidelines.
· Conduct research and development for new designs, products, and processes and work closely with the product manager.
· You will maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation and control
· You will ensure budgets are calculated and reported, and that projects are completed on time.
Skills
· You have strong project management skills with a proven engineering background and the ability to understand and manage the complexities of hardware, software, and mechanical engineering disciplines to oversee the development, execution, and completion of engineering projects.
· You possess strong team management skills that will enable the team to grow, develop, and create an environment where the team feels valued and motivated.
· You must be able to balance the needs of the team with the needs of the business.
· You must be able to advocate for the resources and support the team needs to excel, while keeping everyone focused and productive.
· You have excellent communication skills and can converse with internal and external stakeholders and customers.
· You are good at resource management and planning.
· You understand electronics, electronics design, software design, cloud-based applications, IoT-related systems and identification technologies well.
· Manage developments from concept through to validation and launch, including regulatory requirements and design for manufacturing.
· You can research and develop new technologies and processes for products, product updates and cost-reduction activities.
· Good knowledge of development processes, driving improvements to maximise efficiency and doing what is required to maintain full ISO compliance.
· Contribute to creating the product roadmap by working with the product manager.
· Strong problem-solving skills, which can be used to assist the team and the wider business.
Preferred Experience
· Management qualification or experience in a similar role.
· Project management qualifications or experience.
· Experience of product manufacturing, system design and software design.
· Experience of ISO 9001 quality management system.

· Salary £50k-£60k dependent on experience
