We are looking to recruit a full time Finance Coordinator to support the existing team.

The role:
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Finance Coordinator will be responsible for managing the company's core transactional finance activities, ensuring financial records are accurate, suppliers are paid on time, customer payments are collected efficiently, and finance processes run smoothly across the business.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong finance administration experience who enjoys taking ownership, working closely with operational teams, and being at the centre of a busy finance function.
This full time, office-based position will require attendance at our Chelmsford office from Monday to Friday (parking available but a car is required to reach the office). Applicants should be able to reliably commute to the office on a daily basis.
Key Responsibilities
Purchase Ledger
- Process supplier invoices accurately and efficiently.
- Match invoices to purchase orders and approvals.
- Manage supplier statement reconciliations.
- Resolve invoice queries with suppliers and internal teams.
- Prepare supplier payment runs.
- Maintain supplier records and account details.
Sales Ledger & Credit Control
- Raise customer invoices accurately and on time.
- Monitor customer accounts and outstanding balances.
- Chase overdue payments professionally.
- Resolve customer invoice queries.
- Allocate customer receipts and maintain accurate debtor records.
- Support cash collection targets.
Banking & Cash Management
- Process daily bank transactions.
- Reconcile bank accounts.
- Maintain accurate financial records.
Finance Administration
- Maintain finance databases.
- Support month-end processes and reconciliations.
- Maintain accurate records of contracts, purchase orders and supporting documentation.
- Support continuous improvement of finance processes and controls.
Business Support
- Work closely with project managers and operational teams to ensure accurate financial information.
- Assist with reporting and data gathering as required.
- Provide general support to the wider finance team.
About You
Essential
- Previous experience in a finance, accounts, bookkeeping or finance administration role.
- Experience of purchase ledger and sales ledger processes.
- Good understanding of accounting principles.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Confident using Microsoft Excel.
- Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships across the business.
Desirable
- AAT qualification or studying towards AAT.
- Experience using accounting software such as Sage, Xero or similar ERP systems.
- Experience within a project-based, construction, engineering or service-led
Ideal candidates will be flexible in their approach to their work, have experience with Xero (or similar accounts system) and be comfortable working with cloud based management programs in addition to office suite.
