Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable Part-time Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering goods efficiently and safely, ensuring timely service to our clients. This role offers flexible hours suitable for individuals seeking part-time employment, preferably for Wednesday - Friday cover, with opportunities to develop their driving and maintenance skills. A valid driver’s licence and good communication skills are essential for success in this position.

Duties

Safely operate company vehicles, to deliver goods to various locations
Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to meet schedule requirements
Conduct routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks to ensure safety and operational readiness
Load and unload items carefully, ensuring they are secured during transit
Maintain accurate delivery records and obtain necessary signatures upon delivery
Communicate effectively with clients and team members regarding delivery times or any issues encountered during routes
Adhere strictly to traffic laws and company policies at all times

Requirements

Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role, preferably with commercial driving experience
Valid driver’s licence suitable for the vehicle type (e.g., car, van, or lorry)
Mechanical knowledge to perform basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshoot minor issues
Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record
Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal
Ability to organise deliveries efficiently and manage time effectively
Knowledge of local roads and navigation systems
Previous experience as a <PERSON> driver is desirable but not essential
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
