Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Commis Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The successful candidate will assist in food preparation, support kitchen operations, and contribute to delivering exceptional dining experiences. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about culinary arts and eager to develop their skills within a professional hospitality environment. Duties

Assist in the preparation and cooking of a variety of dishes in accordance with established recipes and standards
Support senior chefs with food production, ensuring quality and presentation meet company specifications
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations, adhering to food safety regulations
Supervise junior team members when required, providing guidance and support to ensure smooth kitchen operations
Manage food stock levels, assist with inventory checks, and ensure proper storage of ingredients
Contribute to menu development ideas and participate in daily briefings with the kitchen team
Ensure all health and safety protocols are followed diligently throughout all kitchen activities
Serve dishes efficiently during service hours, ensuring customer satisfaction

Experience

Previous experience in a professional kitchen environment is preferred, ideally within a restaurant or hospitality setting
Demonstrable knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
Experience in food production, cooking, and food preparation techniques
Supervising or team management experience is advantageous but not essential for entry-level candidates willing to learn
Familiarity with restaurant operations, serving procedures, and customer service principles is beneficial
A passion for culinary arts combined with a strong work ethic and leadership qualities is highly valued
