Full job description

Likewise Floors Ltd are a national wholesale floorcovering distributor and a wholly owned subsidiary of Likewise Group PLC, operating from 12 principal sites across the UK.

Due to business expansion, we are looking to recruit an experienced credit controller to join our operational team based in Newbury. reporting into the Leeds based Financial Controller with a local reporting line into the Newbury site Commercial Manager. The role will be responsible for approximately 1000 live accounts trading across two ledgers. The customer base consists primarily of small to medium sized limited entities and owner managed businesses with debts ranging from £100 to £100k.

Key duties and responsibilities in managing the ledgers: -

Liaising with customers regarding prompt payment of their account
Regular aged debtor review with local management
Monitoring of held orders and releasing for sale as appropriate
Allocation of unallocated receipts
New account setup; obtaining credit checks / references / pro-forma payment
Request credit limit increase approval from head office as appropriate to policy guidelines
Prompt resolution of customer queries, price / faulty product, through dialogue with the sales team
Process merchant card payments where applicable using chip and pin and/or online portal
Proactively direct customers to use invoice & statement payment links through Payit by NatWest
Daily reconciliation of any cash and / or cheques received through the trade counter / delivery network.
Processing cash & cheque deposits for external courier collection

· Carry out account reconciliations as required and resolve debtor queries

Ongoing communication with the internal & external sales team
Issuing 7 day pre-legal / external agency collection letters as required
Month end statement run

The successful applicant will have:

A professional telephone manner and excellent communication skills
The ability to work diligently and independently
Previous experience working within a high-volume fast moving credit control environment
The ability to resolve queries
Ability to prioritise workload

· Good Excel skills

Pay: Up to £30,000.00 per year
