Job Type: Work Experience leading to Full-Time Level 3 Apprenticeship

We are a rapidly growing Limited Company specializing in custom-built PCs (Glacial Systems), comprehensive hardware diagnostics, and efficient retail technology sales. We operate on a strict "No Fix, No Fee" policy and pride ourselves on delivering rapid, high-quality service to our local community.
The Opportunity: We are seeking a highly motivated, reliable, and tech-savvy individual to join our team. This role will begin as a 4-week work experience placement in partnership with the Jobcentre, transitioning into a fully supported Level 3 IT Apprenticeship for the right candidate. You will receive hands-on training directly from the business owner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Front-of-House Operations: Act as the first point of contact for customers, confidently explaining our "No Fix, No Fee" policy.
- Logistics & Intake: Manage the intake of customer devices, processing our £35 fixed diagnostic fee using our HubSpot CRM.
- Technical Repairs: Assist in diagnosing and repairing laptops and desktops, adhering to our 1-3 day diagnostic and 3-5 day repair turnaround windows.
- System Deployments: Learn to utilize Windows Deployment Services (WDS) for multi-device OS installations. (Desired)
- Sales & Recommendations: Prioritize recommending in-store stock or our custom Arctic Systems over complex repairs to improve inventory turnover.
- Parts Sourcing: Assist in identifying and ordering parts from our approved suppliers (VIP Computers, West Coast, Target Components, Amazon, eBay, and Apple Self-Service).
Eligibility Requirements (Strictly Enforced for Funding Purposes):
- Must be aged between 18 and 24 years old.
- Must have been claiming Universal Credit for 6 months or longer.
- Must not already hold a Level 3 Apprenticeship qualification.
- Must live within a commutable distance to our Preston location.
- These conditions are not set in stone we will also consider other candidates to interview.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Punctual, highly organized, and reliable.
- A genuine passion for PC hardware, custom builds, and problem-solving.
- Professional business etiquette and excellent customer service skills.
- Basic understanding of PC components (CPUs, RAM, SSDs) and Windows OS.
- Any micro-soldering experience is Highly desirable!
