Full job description

Flint Owl Bakery is a wholesale and retail organic craft bakery in Glynde, Nr Lewes, East Sussex. We are looking for a trainee bread & viennoiserie baker.

We have our own shop/cafes in Lewes, Brighton and East Grinstead which are supplied by our bakery & kitchen. We also wholesale our breads to customers in Sussex and have our own no dig market garden that provides vegetables for our kitchen.

Over time you will learn all areas of production, mixing techniques, hand shaping, oven work and sourdough production. We produce a good range of organic loaves without improvers and a large range of handmade croissants.

This is not a cake making or patisserie role. It's a physically demanding, hands on role.

Ideally you will have had some experience with bakery, kitchen or food production and have a passion for producing high quality products. You do not need to come from a baking background but have a humble approach to learning and a willingness for hard work in a fast paced physically demanding role. There is no age limit though passion for the craft essential.

This is a long term role. We are not looking at someone for short term training.

5 shifts p/wk, Salary increasing with experience. We are situated in Glynde, 5mins from Lewes. You may need your own transport due to the village location and time of finish, however there is a train station 5mins walk from the bakery.
