Workshop Operative – Fixed term contract (with potential for extension/permanent)
Location: Bordon, Hampshire (We are located on the Bordon Trading Estate therefore please ensure you can commute to this location as public transport is limited)
Salary: £30940.00 pa (pro rata) + benefits

The Role
We are looking for a proactive Workshop Operative to join our Production team on a fixed term contract which may be extended or become permanent. You’ll run both manual and automatic equipment, perform in-process quality checks, and help keep our 5S-driven workshop operating at peak efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
· Operate automatic machines, beam saws, lifting equipment, and hand tools, after full training.
· Conduct handover and pre-handover quality checks; identify and report any variances.
· Troubleshoot minor machine faults and escalate maintenance issues promptly.
· Work with the Production Workshop Manager to meet daily and weekly targets.
· Keep your work area clean, safe, and compliant with H&S and ISO standards.
· Attend daily shift “huddles” and act on any updates or improvements.
· Assist with material handling, measuring, classifying, feeding, and packing finished goods.
What We’re Looking For
· Strong hands-on mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
· Experience (or keen interest) in Auto operation and sheet material handling.
· Basic problem-solving skills and the confidence to ask for support when needed.
· Excellent communication, clear, concise, and team oriented.
· Self-motivated, safety-minded, and committed to quality.
· Ability to follow work instructions and embrace continuous process improvements.
· Requirement to work some additional hours and overtime on Saturdays ( 7am to 1pm) during busy periods.
