Rehab Support Worker – Brain Injury Support

Location: SN7 8QQ

Hours: Part to full time hours, the right candidate will need to be able to work over a flexible monthly work pattern

Shift Pattern: 10pm to 10am

Pay Rates:

Monday to Friday day / night: £17.00 - £18.00 per hour
Saturday and Sunday day: £18.00 per hour
Saturday and Sunday night: £18.50 per hour
Sleep-in rate: £14.00 per hour
Bank Holiday rate: £26.00 per hour

We are looking for an experienced Rehab Support Worker to support an adult with an

acquired brain injury, reduced mobility, and behaviours that may challenge.

This is a full-time role worked over the month on a rota basis. We need someone calm,

reliable, patient, and confident working in a complex care setting.

About the role

You will support the client at home and in the community with daily living, rehabilitation

goals, mobility, personal care, and routine.

This is a structured rehab-based package, so the right person must be able to

encourage independence, follow the care plan, and provide the right level of support

without taking over.

A big part of this role is helping the client live a full life, including spending meaningful

time with his family and children. This is a very important goal within the package. The

right support worker will understand the value of this and help make family time

possible without family needing to step in and cover care.

Duties will include

Personal care
Prompting, encouragement, and supervision with daily living tasks
Support with showering, dressing, oral care, toileting, and continence care
Meal preparation and support with fluids and nutrition
Keeping the home clean, tidy, and organised
Household duties including laundry, hoovering, mopping, dusting, and general

housekeeping

Shopping, errands, and community access
Driving or accompanying to appointments and activities
Supporting mobility and transfers safely
Supporting a wheelchair user in a safe and respectful way
Encouraging routine, rehabilitation goals, and meaningful family time

About the client

The client is a verbal communicator and uses a powered wheelchair. He can do some

things independently but needs support, prompting, and supervision to do this safely

and consistently.

Routine is important to his wellbeing and progress. At times he can become frustrated

or distressed, which may present as verbal aggression and occasional physical

behaviours. Staff need to stay calm, recognise triggers, and use de-escalation properly.

Experience supporting people with brain injuries or in complex care
Experience working with behaviours that challenge
Good understanding of de-escalation and person-centred support
Experience supporting people with reduced mobility
Confidence supporting with transfers and mobility needs
Reliable, professional, and hard-working
Calm, patient, and respectful
Good common sense and able to respond well to situations
Good sense of humour and able to build rapport
Able to follow care plans and routines properly
Confident supporting rehabilitation goals

support plan, and rehab goals before working alone.

Consistency, patience, and the right experience are key to making this placement work

well.

Pay: £17.00-£18.50 per hour
